Internet users on the go can now track down high quality search results more easily after Google unveil their new mobile algorithm boost – an update designed to move mobile-friendly websites to the top of Google’s mobile search results.
Confirmed by Google Trends Analyst John Mueller on Twitter earlier this month, the new boost will only affect websites not previously given a mobile-friendly ranking.
Significant changes in site traffic could be seen by webmasters due to the upgrade, which builds on the original algorithm created in April last year.
A page-by-page signal will be used to assess and index the entirety of websites in real-time, meaning the time taken to impact and update search results could differ dramatically.
